How to Identify the Right Part for Your KWL Drilling Rig
Finding a replacement part starts with identifying what your rig needs. A clear enquiry helps reduce unnecessary back-and-forth and makes it easier to assess sourcing options.
If you need parts for a KWL drilling rig, here is what to send Austral Forage.
1. Start with the rig details
Include the rig model and serial number, if available. A clear photograph of the identification plate is useful.
If you cannot find these details, send what you have and explain what is missing. Avoid guessing the model or relying only on the rig’s appearance.
2. Look for a part number
Check any existing parts list, manual, previous invoice or label you already have. Include the complete number, keeping any letters, spaces, hyphens or suffixes.
If the component has markings, photograph them. Some markings identify a casting or production batch rather than an orderable part, so a number alone may not be enough.
Not every part has a readable number. If yours is missing or worn, describe the component and where it is fitted.
3. Send clear photographs
Where safely accessible, useful photographs include:
- The whole component.
- A close-up of labels, numbers and other markings.
- Its location on the rig.
- Connections, mounting points and the area needing attention.
Follow your site’s shutdown and isolation procedures before approaching machinery. Do not remove guards or dismantle equipment just to take photographs.
Parts that look similar are not necessarily interchangeable. Photographs help explain a request, but the correct replacement should be checked against the available technical details.
4. Explain what you need
Tell us:
- What the part does or where it is used.
- How many you need.
- Whether you are replacing a damaged part or sourcing a spare.
- Whether the request is urgent or the rig is stopped.
If your technician has already identified the component, include their description or reference.
5. Include the delivery destination
Provide the destination country, town or city, and any known delivery requirements. This helps us discuss supply and delivery arrangements from Australia to your location in Africa.
Availability and delivery options need to be checked for each enquiry.
